You are about to embark on a fabulous journey, which will result in your wedding day being one that you will always look back on with fond and warm memories. We are delighted that you are considering Castle Durrow to host your reception and we look forward to helping you with the arrangements and then making your day the most special in your lives.
From the moment your wedding reception has been entrusted to us we will commence with the careful planning. We advise that the couple meet & call us as regularly as they require and be introduced to our staff that will be there to serve on the wedding day. We also recommend that you choose your wedding breakfast carefully & meet with our Chef. This will allow you to be assured that the quality that we promise is the product we provide.

The Castle Durrow Day in 2010 & 2011:
At Castle Durrow, we host weddings as if they were for our own family. Don’t forget this is a day that will stand out for your whole married life together. You will want that day to be amazing. That is why we have arranged a complete & personalised day for you and your guests. Of course, you can add on many extras to further ‘tailor make’ your special day.
There are two drinks each for all your guests on arrival at the Castle. The soon to be famous Castle Durrow cocktail (peach schnapps & orange juice), and a mix of Sparkling Wine, Pimms, Pints/bottles of Beer, Kir Royale and non-alcoholic fruit punch. In the winter months you can change to Mulled Wine or Hot Port instead of Pimms.
The chef’s choice of canapés will be offered to you on silver platters. Dietary requirements are always catered for if asked for in advance.
Then at about 5.15 – 6.00pm the banquet begins. You will sit for the first meal of your married life. Your wedding breakfast (named in the old tradition of weddings only taking place in the morning!) comprises of a starter, a soup, a sorbet, main course, dessert and tea & coffee. You will find attached a sample list of dishes that will allow you to make your personalised menu from. If you have any personal favourites not on our list let us know & we may be able to put it on your menu. Again, special dietary requests are usually no problem at all, but please let us know in advance.
At Castle Durrow, we have a Head Chef for our main restaurant and a dedicated Head Chef for our Banqueting Room. All food is freshly prepared before your meal and cooked to order. We do not keep food in holding ovens (we don’t even have them here!).
Half a bottle of our house wine for every guest is included with the meal.

On to the speeches. The moment all have been waiting for. A toast of Sparkling Wine to the Bride & Groom brings to an end what we promise to be a meal you will be proud of & your guests will enjoy thoroughly.
Dancing, drinking and having fun makes people hungry at the strangest times. So, at about 11 to 11:30 pm we will bring out your wedding cake and platters of sandwiches and cocktail sausages drenched in honey and whole grain mustard.
