Feedback from our recent Brides & Grooms

I wanted to thank you and say how pleased we were with all aspects of our dealings with the staff in Castle Durrow in arranging “L and E” wedding. We had a wonderful two days in Castle Durrow, far exceeding my expectations. Many thanks for your help, advice and expertise in organising the reception. The happy couple were only delighted with the whole event, Baby “x” was really well looked after by the babysitter. The whole event ran so smoothly, all the staff were so professional and friendly, the Americans were bowled over by the house itself, the atmosphere and the fact that only wedding guests were residents on Monday night. Others commented on the dining room layout, the flowers, the candelabras, the table linen and the service. Irish friends wondered why they had not had their daughters weddings in Durrow!! You had a very contented group.
I hope that some of our friends will invite us to another reception in Durrow so that we can enjoy the place once more. “Mother of Bride” 16.5.11

We just wanted to drop you a quick email to say thanks to you and the staff for helping to make our day so special. From start to finish you were all excellent. Your team were courteous to our guests and always helpful no matter what. The food was absolutely fabulous and we still have family and friends talking about how well presented and tasty it was, so compliments to the chef and his team! We just wanted to email and you for a fantastic day on Dec 23rd. We were so happy with everything laid on in Durrow Castle. The guests were highly impressed with everything about the day, with the high quality of the food and the wine being served the most popular compliments being paid. Also every member of staff was extremely friendly and helpful and helped to make a great evening and enjoyable breakfast the following morning. The day and evening also ran so smoothly and we like to thank you personally for the high level of organisation it took behind the scenes for it all to run so well. The dust is finally settling! Just a quick note to say thanks for all your hard work in helping to make such a great and stressfree day for us. From start to finish everything in the hotel was absolutely perfect-we are so glad that we chose castle durrow for our reception because I think they really think about those little details that other hotels forget about-we lost count of the number of people who commented thet it was the nicest wedding venue they had been to and best food that they had had. All of the guests with children thought the childrens rooms were perfect. At about 1 am when i took my shoes and within 60 seconds I was offered a pair of flip-flops and we both really love the print of Castle Durrow that we were given when we were leaving. Reservations were a pleasure to deal with when it came to sorting out rooms (not an easy job} and finally you were also an absolute pleasure to deal with- you managed to be completly relaxed to deal with yet extremely well organised (i suppose somebody had to be organised and we certainly were’nt)-they was no demand too great and the day ran so smoothly-we’re looking forward to coming back for our honeymoon. Hi all, I just wanted to write you a little note to say thank you so much for helping make our day so special from the moment we chose Castle Durrow as our venue we never failed to be impressed by the fantastic service and friendly welcomes that we received on every visit. The day itself was even more perfect than I could ever imagined, and it was all the hard work and percise planning of you and your team that made it so wonderful. Thanks again, you really are the best wedding coordinator I’ve known of. Thank you also for our beautiful painting. It is now hanging with pride in our apartment and acts as a wonderful reminder of the best day of our lives. We look forward to returning on our anniversary next year and hopefully for many years more.

We just wanted to send a very belated “thank you” card to you all. We had our wedding reception in the Castle on Thursday 14th October. We both had an amazing day with all our friends and family. From the day we booked the Castle, every request was met with the answer “yes”, we can do that”. Although, I knew you were known for your customer service and the quality of your food, we both felt on the day that it made our “big day” a truly unique experience for our guests. Our guest’s commented how fabulous the venue was, how friendly all the staff were on the day and of course how much they enjoyed their meal ( food and wine).

We both had the most fantastic wedding day that anyone could wish for…. from the day we booked our wedding in Castle Durrow we had no doubt that it would be.  The professionalism and service from all of the staff was first class.  It was all the touches from all the organising and warm greeting when we arrived, the taking of my veil to our room for safekeeping, to all the breakfast, restaurant and bar staff being so lovely and friendly.  All our guests have commented on how beautiful Castle Durrow is and how lovely the meal was. We are writing to tell you how delighted we were with our son’s wedding reception, which took place at Castle Durrow on Saturday 7th. Due to the careful planning and dedicated execution of these duties by your staff we had what could only be considered as a memorable day. Our guests, who came from as far as Norway and the USA, raved about the location and the service they received. Just a quick few lines to thank you for providing us with a fabulous venue for celebrating our wedding day. The day was absolutely perfect, and all of our guests were full of praise for the hotel, its facilities and staff. From the minute we made contact, right through to the settlement of the account, the service afforded to us was of the highest quality. Every single staff member we dealt with, in any area of the hotel was professional, courteous and friendly and they deserve the highest of praise. The reservations staff dealt with our guests and all of their requirements brilliantly, particularly since we have a few family requirements such as bunk beds and babysitters etc. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and luxurious and its a pity our stay was limited to just one night. All of our guests were highly complimentary of the quality of the drinks reception at the hotel, from  the varierty of beverages offered to the courteous manner in which they were served. The gardens provided a wonderful environment in which to enjoy our drinks and they are a credit to the hotel. The functions staff carrried out their duties meticulously for the duration of the reception and dealt with our guests dietary requirements brilliantly. The quality of the food was complimented several times during the evening and the clean plates been sent back to the kitchen after every course are testament to that. To sum up, our reception was the envy of many of our guests and many of them not familiar with Castle Durrow before our wedding will now never forget the place and its people. Sorry we have not been in touch in the last couple of weeks – not long back after our honeymoon ! Just wanted to touch base with you to thank you and all the staff at Castle Durrow for an amazing day on the 15th!  Thank you so much for making it all possible within the short space of time – your cool attitude and approach was encouraging as to what could be done in a short space of time ! Venue is truly fantastic – each room a tribute to the interior designer!  All staff from reception to banquet/bar and residents bar were more than accommodating. Guests are still raving about the place and hopefully you’ll secure a few more bookings over the coming years as a result of our experience. So glad we went for the late night bbq option – added to the atmosphere and food again was excellent. Just a quick note to thank you for the wonderful stay we have in your hotel at my sisters wedding on 8th May. The team and you should start offering courses to other Hotel’s in Ireland to show how a wedding should be done. I now understand why my sister dargged us from the North East to the South Midlands of the Country for her wedding. It was like moving into someone’s house for the weekend.
